Eww, I hated hercules and thought that all of the sequels (except maybe the aladin sequels) were all insults to disney... But, I loved soo many of the originals, lets see:
The Lion King (although my Dad semi-ruined it by telling me that Darth Vader was Mufassa ;) )
The Jungle Book
The Little Mermaid
Mulan (the only one of the later Disney movies that I liked)
Aladin
The Fox and the Hound (It was sooo sad, and so good)
James and the Giant Peach
The Aristocats
The Great Mouse Detective
Oliver & Company
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Toy Story
Old Yeller (same as the fox and the hound)
The Black Cauldron (munchings and crunchings. lol)
Also, when I was little, my parents say I also loved 101 Dlamations..

Wow... That's a long list ;) I owned almost all of the animated (non-sequels) disney movies...

I grew up watching Disney movies, and so did my children.
Several Disney VHS tapes and a couple of DVDs are gathering dust here, even as we speak. I have to admit that I have a "love/hate" relationship Disney. Especially in the earliest, hand-drawn motion pictures, the company brought a new level of excellence to the art of animation. Even some of their latest efforts, such as Ratatouille are said to be quite witty and extremely entertaining. Some of the music is on the same level as Broadway. BUT-
there has been a bit of psychological damage in the nation's zeitgeist, especially among young girls growing up believing in the myth of a "Prince Charming" who will sweep them off thetr feet and make all their dreams come true. cf: The Disney Version by Richard Schickel.
There are quite a few unsettling aspects of the "corporate" mentality. Although there are fine artistic qualities to many, if not most, animated Disney movies, the reason all of their movies are made is commerce, not art. The art is almost beside the point to the Board of Directors. There's some irony in the fact that the best Disney movie is Fantasia, the only one that didn't burn up the box office when it was first released.
And they grip their copyrights more tightly than Jiminy Cricket clutched his top hat. Or Johnny Depp clasping his eye liner pencil. A couple of years ago, a non-profit day care center in Florida had some decals of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck on the wall, and Disney wasted no time litigating against the preschool! Fighting a Disney lawyer must be like a pirate wrestling an alligator in the Caribbean.

"love is a ceratied blade on the wrist of insanity"

My real favorite is one they won't release on video, claiming it sterotypes black people, but it's Song of the South, an adaptation of the Uncle Remus stories. The man who played Uncle Remus could sing with a rich wonderful voice, and to me, who grew up among many black neighbors, it embodies the way they always found a way to be cheerful when times were hard. I attened church at several prominatly black churches and the music and worship was twice what I saw elsewhere. The stories were told in dialect, but I see dialect today and have no problem respecting the people. I find it sad that the great acting done in this movie will not be shared with others. Be proud of who you are and that your stories and songs are remembered today. You were once done wrong and made slaves and you rose above that, but the songs and stories from then are still remembered. Honor your ancestors who bore the horrible burdens that you can now enjoy the taste of freedom.

My Native American blood lost as much if not more, but if more of them would stand and be proud of who they were and are, things could be different. Time cannot be rewritten, nor should it be forgotten, but live for today and the future, the past must not rule us.

"Beauty and the Beast"!!! I am obsessed!! I guess my favorite part is somewhat of a minor one, but I love it. It is when Lumiere has Babette behind the curtain. I get a kick out of it when she tries to refuse him and then says in her cute French accent "I've been burnt by you before". Honestly, for Disney characters, nobody could go above Lumiere fo me! He is just so suave!
