Any administrators out there? I have really been using and enjoying this site and, more importantly, my students have, too. Thanks for maintaining it.

I was wondering if you might consider adding a new forum for student discussion threads to discuss works they are reading for class assignments. NOT a cheat page, but an virtual extension of class discussion. The thread I have on Balzac & Little Chinese Seamstress, for example. I see a couple for teachers, esp. sharing lesson ideas, etc, but these seem to be teachers talking to other teachers. It would be easier to direct my students to a forum clearly identified for them, and they might find other classes discussing other works they have read. I'm sure there are some good reasons for not doing this as well, and for now I'll just start new threads under General Lit and ya'll can move them as you see fit.

Again, this has been a great supplement to my class time, and students are getting a lot out of it.

A homework help forum could work, but we don't want to encourage worthless

"What is the theme of romeo & juliet? Help assignment due tommorow! kthx."

posts.

If it is merely a discussion amongst students, there is no reason it cannot exist in the rest of the forum at large. This is especially true if the work involves an author on this site, by posting to the author (or book's) specific discussion forum you get many more views of the thread by people interested in that specific book or author.
