Did anybody read it? It's a fascinating book; the best I've read in a while. What did you think of it?

Is this the book that Johnny Depp brought the film rights to?

He BOUGHT the rights? That I did not know, but the book definitely seems to be Depp-ish. I know for sure he's going to act in it and am seriously looking forward to that. The story is about an escaped convict who goes to Bombay and gets involved with the people of the slums all the way to getting involved with a Mafia don, one of the most important in Bombay, to getting free from that. Drama, action, romance, comedy, and a surprising dose of philosophy served up in a book that exposes the reality of Indian life.
