I'm writing a series of short stories about a fictional town existing near London in the oh, 1600s or so... doesn't really matter.

Anyway, I need some information about typical weather patterns there. Help me out? ;D

Uhm, it really depends on the time of year I guess.

Well could you give me a typical summer, winter, fall, and spring day then? =)

Talk about rain; you cannot go wrong with that! :D

On a side note, you might find some information on BBC Weather centre:

Oh! You know, I go to BBC.com to catch up on news all the time, it never occured to be to scope out the weather... xD

Thank you very much! ^^'; Does it rain pretty much year round there then?

Sure!

Summer: Can be fairly hot in comparison to the rest of the year. It's usually quite dry...

Winter: It snows here in Scotland, im not too sure if it snows all that much in London though. I know that it is real cold and bitter.

Spring: Fluctuations between sunshine and rain =/

Autumn (Fall): Cold, rainy and windy.

Im afraid we don't have great weather here =[

This is true, it's nice when it's raining and it's warm xD But even the cold rain is a pretty sound when you're inside =)

Yeah!! Like snow. Snow is amazing when you are sitting inside, but when you get burried in inches of it, that can be a bit of a mood killer too =/

Yeah, I never escape the snow =/ I go skiing twice a year in Austria (Summer and Spring) and it usually snows here in December-February. Yay...

I live in America, and America is big enough so that I don't have to leave it. Ever. xD

Yeah, you're at an advantage. =( I leave the UK about 4 times a year. Its pretty much boring here. Nothing to do, nothing to see.

XD

Everyone from Europe I've ever talked to seems to be really fond of country-hopping. Here in the US, if you run around to different countries (unless you just like, drive up to Canada to fish or something) you must have a lot of money xD

That's complete rubbish, there's masses to do and see in UK.

It's easy to country hop from UK because Europe is so close, and of course it's interesting to taste a different culture for a week or so, but don't downplay what you've got at home. The problem is most likely that you simply don't look, and that's why you don't see.

Hedbanger - the weather:

Spring : rain, cloudy
Summer : rain, cloudy interspersed with the odd week or so of sunshine and heat which everyone complains about.
Autumn : rain, cloudy
Winter : rain, cloudy interspersed with the occassional snow shower which grinds the country to a complete halt.

The weather is pretty stable here, but it's Island weather, so there's a lot of rain. It isn't that bad though, you'd expect, wouldn't you, that living in these conditions we'd have got used to it. There are always raincoats, umbrellas and wellies.
