What are you currently hearing? What sort of sounds are pounding into your eardrums, or sweetly serenading them?

There's a typhoon raging today, and here at the third floor of a city building, I can hear the wind whistling eerily with all its might.:)

I'm listening to the air conditioner. In the winter I sleep with the fan on. I need a steady sound to sleep.

Typhoon?

I'm listening to my fan and wishing the house was cool enough to turn it off. I like the piercing silence I normally get when the kids are in bed and my husband is at work. After a crazy day it is nice to hear nothing.

yep, a typhoon. Some supertyphoon, they say. Not now, though. Not yet.

Whistling sounds have lessened. Now it is the TV I hear. And of course, my mother's fussing. ;)

Silence. For once, complete silence. No nagging mother, no nagging teachers, no hustle of everyday life. No whiney ex-boyfriend, no grouchy sister. Silence. It's positively beautiful. Achingly, unapolagetically, heartwrenchingly... beautiful. The prettiest song in the world could not equal the charm of this total silence. I'm actually trembling it's so perfect. It's inspiring.

I love silence, too; I want to get some headphones that counter the sound they receive...I like music too, music on headphones is great for me. It creates a really wonderful feeling. I remember the simple thing of buying CDs and listening to them all the time; really great.

Uh, I'm hearing the AC right now...

I love especially right now: Nirvana, The Decemberists, Jethro Tull, The Beatles, Elvis, Marley, t.A.T.u., Pentangle, Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Hendrix, Neil Young...I really like all those bands, even though I don't have their music.

RoCKiTcZa
09-21-2007, 05:06 AM
Whether I like silence or noise depends on my mood for the day. Oftentimes at school I have to like noise (and I actually do) because I must bear it. On regular days at home, however, I prefer to turn on my music and listen while doing stuff, mostly homework, sing my heart out and play an instrument or two. Obviously, I am a big fan of MCR, and FOB too. I also possess a special liking for numerous other bands, both local and overseas. Yes, I am a genuine music lover, and a writer as well ;)

right now i am hearing... the high-pitched clinking of spoons and forks... and some old-fashioned chatting.

Of course we do! We love them, and we're all huge fans... nearly all the people in my homeroom are emo, or at least appreciators of all things emo.

Is his newest deviation the one about the magnet? Ooh, I loved that. All of his drawings are simply awesome. In fact I've made up my own version of Pon and Zi, which I included in my Art project, which is mostly about me and the object of my infatuation, but nothing beats the original ;)

At the moment I am hearing the song 'The Night Sky' by Keane. This is a record they are releasing in support of Warchild ALL PROCEEDS GO TO WARCHILD FOR THIS TRACK. This goes on release on Monday but is available from iTunes now. Please buy it - even if you don't like the song it's a good cause.

For those who don't know, Warchild is a charity that supports children living in war torn areas. There is still so much war and destruction in the world, every little thing we do can help.

Lyrics here:

ONE DAY I WILL BE
BACK IN OUR OLD STREET
SAFE FROM THE NOISE THAT'S
FALLING AROUND ME

AND WE'LL RELEASE THIS TOWN FROM THE PEOPLE
WHO ARE TRYING TO KNOCK IT DOWN
AND THEN ONLY CITY LIGHTS WILL BRIGHTEN THE NIGHT SKY
AND THERE WILL BE NO SOUND

OPEN THE BARS AND
OPEN THE MARKETS
OPEN THE BANKS AND
OPEN THE CHURCHES

AND WE'LL RELEASE THIS TOWN FROM THE PEOPLE
WHO ARE TRYING TO KNOCK IT DOWN
AND THEN ONLY CITY LIGHTS WILL BRIGHTEN THE NIGHT SKY
AND THERE WILL BE NO SOUND

WE'VE BEEN COWERING SO LONG
OH WHAT I WOULD GIVE
TO STAND AT THE BUS STOP
OR BROWSE IN A BOOKSHOP
TO SLEEP AND ALWAYS BE STILL

AND WE'LL RELEASE THIS TOWN FROM THE PEOPLE
WHO ARE TRYING TO KNOCK IT DOWN
AND THEN ONLY CITY LIGHTS WILL BRIGHTEN THE NIGHT SKY
AND I WILL BE SET FREE FROM THE PEOPLE
WHO ARE TRYING TO BURY ME
AND THEN ONLY FIREWORKS WILL LIGHT THE SKY AT NIGHT
FOR ALL THE WORLD CAN SEE
