We all know that the book we are reading and the poem we are writing are both literature, but what is it, really?;)

If leaflets (campaign literature) are considered such, then its only a tag of reference. But when I hear literature, I think literary art and I have a standard for that. I believe the author of such should be always attempting to progress the medium and the subject.
