Hello, Everyone.

For the past week or so I've been inhabiting this site, ghost-like; I thought I would finally sign up and become solid. I stumbled upon you all while nearly losing my mind with boredom (how I hate the summer!), and I must offer you all a sincere thanks for giving some direction to my internet-surfing.

Well, about myself, as I promised. I am an English major and creative writing minor, with a 4.0 GPA about which I pride myself. Needless to say, I really love to read. I have lately been amusing myself by compiling reading lists ("The Literary Cat's Guide to Essential Science Fiction," for one), but my real passion is novel writing. I am currently working on a historical novel that is doing double duty as my honors thesis. It will be a busy senior year.

In the future, on this site, you will likely see me writing rather long, grammatically grandiose replies--mostly about Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Homer, Virgil, Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, Edith Wharton, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and whatever else I may be reading in class.

It will be a pleasure to meet you all.

Virgil
