.

Stepping into the mist,
I'm lost in a drenched cloud,
brightly lit from
within.

Tentative, uncertain,
I slip through, blind,
vanishing silently
into the whiteness.

Whispered droplets
hang motionless, suspended,
waiting to be parted and dispersed,
submissive.

Tiny beads of moisture
collect on my outer surface....
leaving a space inside
for me.

This made me think of my morning shower. I have watched those tiny beads on my skin so many times.
No matter, I really like your poem.

Ah, that interior space, for which there are no maps! Thank you!

the space that exists where no one else knows, you find in the oddest places

Absolutely, Pen. This poem was inspired by the sculptures of Antony Gormley. I visited an exhibition of his work last week, and loved his thoughts about the space that a human body occupies. Fascinating! Specifically, this poem is about my experience of the installation called Blind Light....a large glass "room" filled with dense cold white mist. Very disorienting and incredibly weird! :) This website - http://www.southbankcentre.co.uk/gormley/ - gives you a bit of an idea what it was like.
