I am new here and I hope someone can help me.
For school, I had to read a short story called "The Child by Tiger," and I was asked to write about its Literary Merit, Plot, Character, etc. I have no problem writing about other topics but I have no idea what the Literary Merit for "The Child by Tiger" is. Can someone tell me what it is and help me with it?
Thank you.

Oh, I don't think I really made the question clear. By Literary Merits, I mean the aesthetic value of the short story such as its grammar and style. Was the use of language in "The Child by Tiger" unique compared to other short stories?

I guess you are referring to Thomas Clayton Wolfe's (1900–1938) story first published in 1937?

There is lots of biographical information and articles about his works on his official site :)

I had never heard of this novel. Wish others will help you do your assignment good.
Good luck.

if that were the sole criteria of literary merit a highly trained chimpanzee would do just as well.
