Imagination Birthday Shurtugal

Dreaming in the daylight hours of a dragon real enough to fly,
She sits there in the sunlight, the book half-closed upon her lap.
Some might think that she’s wasting energy since youth is passing by,
And they image that since her eyes are closed she’s catching a short nap.
How far off target are their arrows; imagination is her companion;
The world they see is but a prison where the unimaginative are chained.
To those who dream without sleeping nothing is impossible nor improbable;
And the sweet voice of her dragon calls; she hears the sounding of its wings.
What does a poet like me have to give as a birthday gift to one so gifted?
Can I paint for her a landscape to match any that her own eyes have seen?
Will I be able in the few words of this poem, in the moments of sand sifted
Through the Hourglass of Eternity to even touch a brush to her own dreams?
Gentle Fairies raise Trumpet Flowers, others play harps strung with Goldthread:
And the sweet singing of that Happy Birthday is heard only within her head…

i can't belive it either.... AND thank you SOOOO much you guys. you are all so sweet. your poem was so nice pen. it touched me just in the right spot. you know exactly were my mind drifts. drama... the peter pan was really cute, you know i love peter pan! riesa, it's ok, i've made that mistake myself, and yes, i would be spying on peter. *blush* though i would tramp through the woods with the lost boys. peter must come quickly or i might just grow up before he comes! thanks again every one you are all to nice!
