"Watch out,"yelled my friend as I was about to step on the dead locust.
"It's already dead,"I said.My friends face twitched into a weird smile and he blurted out,"You step on a dead insect, you have bad luck for two days!"
I was like...:goof:

I have seen many people falling into the grasp of fallacies, and being so much superstitious that they actually reduce you to tears(of annoyance;) ).

Are you superstitious or you show the "WHATEVER" attitude when you confront superstitions?

i'm known to be in the habit of throwing salt over my left shoulder if i spill salt on the table.
And i always count magpies. If i see one on its own i say ' wheres you partner mr magpie', cause they are usually in pairs and i dont want bad luck. Also i always recite the
'one for sorrow
two for joy' rhyme.

Well, let's say if i am about to have 7 years of bad luck for every mirror or glass thing i have broken, it should be advisable to kill myself now and not bother any longer

No i am definately NOT superstitious ;)

Jeez. Such superstitions can be really annoying! I seriously know people who think travelling on Tuesday brings an incident or if a black cat passing cut you cross during a journey, an ill fortune is bound to happen.

'one for sorrow
two for joy' rhyme.Hey-hey-wait there was a book with that. I really wanted to find that book... but I don't remember it... one of sorrow two for mirth, three for saddness five for birth... For a secret never to be told... Can't remember what book it was... :( There was something about a girl dying from fever or something, too... anyone know something like that?

To come back on topic, I'm opposed to superstition. I always kill spiders in my room and my dad keeps saying it's bad luck. And I didn't even know about the salt thing... and I love cats, black ones included.

I never kill spiders and only have one wall mirror so I am not worried about bad luck from those. I am clumsy, so whenever I spill salt, I do tend to throw it over my left shoulder...and usually get it in my eye anyway. Not very lucky! ;)

I think the salt thing is an old irish superstition. Was brought up with it. My aunt always use to make us throw it over our shoulders as kids. mind you she use to always tell us she had saber tooth rabbits in her garden in wexford.....

I'm supersticious when it comes to my underwear, which has to be the same for every match I play in a season :) Silly huh? Didn't bring me much luck this season though as my form was the worst I can remember.

It's all to do with Bob I tell you! He's the master of superstition. And above that, he's universal.

Not sure where I picked that superstition up, but my sister and I have done it since we were kids. Weird....

That's the idea, but change it mid season and it'll bring more bad-luck
Maybe I was wrong to clean them after each match. I'll see what happens next season :p
