A sailor and a map-maker

Sailor:
O my mate,on the seas we live,
With the splashing waves we sing the songs,
And below the horizon where the sun sleeps in,
And the clouds take shelter there within,
But we don't rest and we don't sleep,
As the hopes twinkle for golden sands,

Map-maker:
Indeed my friend,its fairly true,
You battle the oceans,I play with them,
In the north and east, all latitudes,
With a plotting compass,measuring rules,
I set up high,I set up low,
Until we map the world on papyrus reeds,

Sailor:
You've heard the tales of vikings, friend,
Their coffins swayed in beastly waves,
Those men had ships and swords to love,
And so are we in crashing sounds,
Live as if life is nothing beyond,
But waters and the Heaven's gate,

Map-maker:

So the danger is what you perceive,
But courage is there in every deed,
If they don't find my endeavours true,
A penny, not worth a stew,
So here we both stand precariously,
For your passion and my need-the sea.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I hope its not too bad!
I really cannot help myself from exploring the lives of sea-dwellers!

It's really fascinating, I very much like the way you always choose to write 'unique themes' for your poems. :) The poem shows the resolute minds of the workers who are obsessed with their work and are bearing all the hardships, never taking much time to rest. Wonderful is the love of sailor for the sea. It's interesting, indeed. A sailor's job seems fun (though tough) to me as well. (you see I love sea myself :p)

I love it!! It reminds me of one of my favorite poems "The Seafarer" (author unknown). I love the sea; if I weren't tied to this land by so many things I would be a sea dweller myself. I'm actually very passionate when it comes to the sea.
Once again, I love it!!!! :)
