this conversation shocked the bejeesus out of me one day at school:

2 women:

one discussing her
divorce.
They could be
talking about anything: an
article in the
morning paper
distant, informed, regarding
a not over-complicated
topic.

She is gossiping,
laughing, a
non-participant, a
former partner in their
disengaged dance.

Did she
ever Love,
I wonder.

Will she ever?

Is her social warmth a
tropical lassitude,
will she ever rage burn
freeze
can she live?

I would die before
emulating her, I would
design and drive an
apricot-colored car and
immolate myself on it,
naked in
sparkling purple air.

Awesome. (I wanted to just put "awesome," but it only has eight characters. :p So I'll say "perceptive" and "emotionally conscious" too.)

i think it lags 'til the very end. [hm. her conversation lagged, though.] but i mean every word of that last stanza. i would die before i stopped living.
