2. Skip passages whenever the proceedings get tedious?

Yes! But not too much, and hardly ever I do this in very good books.

6. Read in the bedroom, drawing room, bathroom, balcony or outdoors?

Never in bathroom.

4. Make markings and write them down for future reference?

Only sometime.

6. Generally finsih a book in one sitting

Most of my favourite books have been completed by me in one sitting except a few including The Hobbit for which I took a lot of time. I didn't even like it much at first.

1. Read every word of a book (even you're not exactly enjoying it)?
Some authors you can skip a bit, but others if you skip a word, you're lost. So in general I read every word.

2. Skip passages whenever the proceedings get tedious?
If I start skipping, I put the book aside and may or not finish it. Sometimes I'm just not in the mood for that particular book or have too much on my mind to concentrate.

3. Itch to read the climax and skip the middle?

LOL Not in many years. Welllll, maybe on rare occasions.....

4. Make markings and write them down for future reference?
Almost always, particularly for a book discussion it is absolutely necessary.

5. Read on the couch, bed or chair?
Yeah, there. :D

6. Read in teh bedroom, drawing room, bathroom, balcony or outdoors?
Yup, there too. Although I do keep a shelf of books in the bathroom. Mostly short stories. :p

7. finish reading any given book withen half a week
I wish! I have to respect the backlog man!

8. take at least 15 days to a month to finish
Hardly ever.

6. Generally finsih a book in one sitting
Not in ages.

7. take out limited time each day to continue the book I try to, but it is not always possible.

1. Naw, for books I do not enjoy or am reading just for a light read I often skim or doze out after a bit.
2. Sometimes, but once again only for the above.
3. Never.
4. Sometimes, usually for books im reading for literature class.
5. Oh yeah, some of my favorite spots, where else do you read?
6. Oh yes, I love this too, itīs good to read anywhere!
7. Iīve finished books in less, I think I consumed Henry Jamesīs Daisy Miller in 2 hours.
8. This has happened a few times, but never because I was reading the book slowly on purpose. During exams Iīve had to slow down or sometimes completely suspend a book Iīm reading.
6. This has happened before, but not usually. I like to do that on vacation.
7. I usually do that anyway.

1. Most of the time I read every word.
2. I've skipped a couple of passages, not too many, and only when extremely necessary.
3. Never. I always read the book the way it was intended to be read. Front cover to back cover.
4. I write down phrases I would like to keep with me, I sometimes keep a piece of paper in the book with page numbers of favorite passages. No more doggy eared pages for me!
5. I've read on the couch, frequently on my bed (before sleep), and sometimes, squashed in a chair.
6. Not in the bathroom, I don't have a balcony, and the outdoors are just too distracting in their natural beauty.
7. I've only finished the HP series in less than a week.
8. And I am lucky if I can finish a novel within a month.
9. Never finished a book in one sitting...maybe a few plays though.
10. I try to have designated reading time if I can help it, but hey, life happens.

That was fun.

Do you tend to ...
1. Depends on the book... if it is something related to school I rarely pay much attention to the book. If I found it myself I usually read every word.
2. Same as #1. Skipped half of Slaughterhouse Five when I first got it.
3. Nah, I often like the middle better than climax. My favorite books often don't concentrate on the climax much.
5. I usually lie on my bed (which is a couch) when I read. I read from a PocketPC so it's easier that way. I can't read while sitting, it's kind of unpleasant.
6. I finished Harry Potter 6 in one day when I first got it, I wanted to read it so much.
8. Yeah, when the book is boring.

2. Skip passages whenever the proceedings get tedious? Sometimes, rarely, only when it is a book that makes me work to read.

4. Make markings and write them down for future reference?
I do this for almost every book I read. I just take notes of names and characters, places, actual events etc. I love research.

5. Read on the couch, bed or chair?
Most of the time on my bed, sometimes on a chair...

6. Read in teh bedroom, drawing room, bathroom, balcony or outdoors?
Bedroom or backyard.

7. finish reading any given book withen half a week.
Depends, for the most part yes.

8. take at least 15 days to a month to finish.
Lord of the Rings and The Iliad took me about a month for each. I was in the 6th grade for LOTR and 7th/8th for Iliad.

I generally have 4 or 5 books that I am reading at a time but I have to read every word, some sort of obsessive thing.
I would love to make markings but can't seem to do it. I am afraid my old teachers will hunt me down.

I never skip anything, even if the book is boring. I almost always finish every book I start reading. I never make markings to my books, except my Bible, but that's the only one. Usually I read quite fast. If the book is interesting, I finish it within a couple of hours. I can read anywhere, (I can read and walk at the same time, or I can read and play the piano at the same time ), but mostly I read in bed or sitting in a comfortable chair or couch. At summer I like to read outdoors if the sun is shining.

I always read the last chapter first....
I read every word...
I read in a quiet & undisturbed place...
I usually finish in one sitting...no matter how long it takes....
I never mark-up, or abuse a book...unless it's a text- book designed for that purpose...
I read pretty fast...yeah I wanna get to the good stuff ASAP...without missing a beat though....

Chair or couch. Bed is difficult for me.

1. Read every word of a book (even you're not exactly enjoying it)?
No. If I do not enjoy something the least bit, I decide it is not worth my time.

Skip passages whenever the proceedings get tedious?
Depends. At times yes, other times, no. Usually if I like the book it will hardly get "tedious" anyway, and if I dislike it, I am tempted to leave it unfinished anyway.

Itch to read the climax and skip the middle?
No, it is about the process for me, not about results.

Make markings and write them down for future reference?
Sometimes. I do hold a reading journal.

Read on the couch, bed or chair? Read in teh bedroom, drawing room, bathroom, balcony or outdoors?
I can read everywhere, from park to plane :D

finish reading any given book withen half a week
Usually, but not necessarily.

take at least 15 days to a month to finish
No.

Generally finsih a book in one sitting
No.

take out limited time each day to continue the book
No, I never bring any "order" to my readings, I am naturally a very chaotic person and I do not function well when schedules, linear thinking, plans or alike are concerned. :D

I am a vivacious reader, thereby I read every word, obliging myself.Sometimes, the purport of the story gets tedious and I will turn to the next page, followed by subsequent ones.
To enhance my vocabulary,I will highlight the obscure words and note down in my antique, bulky notebook.
I read wherever I feel comfortable, the place wherein I read is ultimately on a stool while leaning against the wall. This is my disposition.

And inevitably I read books by finishing two chapters a day, reading with dilated eyes for a whole day is peculiar, don't tell me that you don't need to go to school, work, devouring, drinking a palatable juice and bathe.
