This is a little over-due because I've been so busy lately, don't always get time to comment to people*, and I guess I'm being a bit lazy starting a topic to address all--I usually try to "Feature" specific blog entries at the top of the Index so more people hopefully see them.
(and it will only let me do 3 at a time :( )
So. Some of you might not know that there have been some LitNetters dealing with some heavy duty personal stuff lately...matters of health, heart, and etc...they've mentioned it in their blogs, but not everybody gets to that section of the forums. And maybe they don't want to post about in the forums or draw much attention to it, just keep it to their blogs, so, I won't go into details...you will have to go find out yourself
But, I'd just like to say here that I'm thinking of and sending positive thoughts to
Neo_Sephiroth, kathycf, and mtpspur.

*This topic is for all of you too who want to send out well-wishes, prayers, happy thoughts, light candles, send positive vibes, or whatever it is you do to let people you know you're thinking of them in difficult times.

Thanks for the thread, Logos!
All I have to say to those people who are depressed is this:
Perhaps an upcoming moment would be good enough to make you forget the past bitter memories! Don't let go of hope, be happy and stay well! :) (Heh, that's exactly what I think when am in distress).

Recently when I complained in an email to my brother about not feeling well, he sent a picture of a cute cat saying, hear you're not feeling well, want me to barf in someone's shoe for you?
Here's one of my favorites to send people:
Be you near, or be you far
Let my blessing, like a star,
Shine upon you everywhere!
And in each lone evening hour
When the twilight folds the flower,
I will fold thy name in prayer.

Well, here's my current prayer list and a general description of what I'm praying for:
MTSPUR: health
Kathy: health / heart
Bakiryu: spirit/heart
Niamh: heart
Neo: health
MKHok: writer's block
Shallot: work situation
Andave: general busyness
I think that's all (from memory, here, which is entirely unreliable).
If anyone else would like to be added - if I missed you and you have a need - please post here and I'll add you. Warning, however: I think God has forgotten I exist, so don't know if I'm doing any good. Still, I'll pray anyway.
It certainly can't hurt.
Two others I'm praying for:
Bibliophile: Not a blogger. Has to do with heart matter.
Adolescent: that his life won't fall through the cracks, and all his potential be lost
via an untimely demise, especially an anonymous, lonely one (my great fear for him).

Oh wow, this brought a tear to my eye. Thank you very much to Logos and all the supportive and kind LitNetters. My thoughts and good wishes for good health and speedy recoveries to Neo and mtpspur. To the folks who may be dealing with troubles and have not posted about it here, I hope you find peace. Take care, all.

This is a great idea for a thread.
I'm praying for those who are having a hard time now.
I recently got the news that the brother of one of my closests friends died of cancer leukemia after fighting it for a few years now. He was her elder brother, and I was in a total shock when I got the news.
I'm asking everyone here to pray for her, and keep her in your thoughts, she really needs it.

I have two poems to share with mtpspur. They are both by Ted Kooser
At the Cancer Clinic
She is being helped toward the open door
that leads to the examining rooms
by two young women I take to be her sisters.
Each bends to the weight of an arm
and steps with the straight, though bearing
of courage. At what must seem to be
a great distance, a nurse holds the door,
smiling and calling encouragement.
How the patient she is in the crisp white sails
of her cloths. The sick woman
peers from under her funny knit cap
to watch each foot swing scuffing forward
and take its turn under her weight.
There is no restlessness or impatience
or anger anywhere in sight. Grace
fills the clean mold of this moment
and all the shuffling magazines grow still.
The Urine Specimen
In the clinic, a sun-bleached shell of stone
on the shore of the city, you enter
the last small chamber, a little closet
chastened with pearl - cool, white, and glistening -
and over the chilly well of the toilet
you trickle your precious sum in a cup.
It’s as simple as that. But the heat
of this gold your body’s melted and poured out
into a form begins to enthrall you,
warming your hand with your flesh’s fevers
in a terrible way. It’s like holding
an organ - spleen or fatty pancreas,
a lobe from your foamy brain still steaming
with worry. You know that just outside
a nurse is waiting to cool it into a gel
and slice it onto a microscope slide
for the doctor, who in it will read your future,
wringing his hands. You lift the chalice and toast
the long life of your friend there in the mirror,
who wanly smiles, but does not drink to you.
