Mon colombe.
Mein Taube.
My precious little dove.
Bring to me the bough of peace.
Rub it gently against my lips.
Brush it ever so lightly over my eyelids.
Tickle my earlobes with the sound of,
"I forgive you".
Let me only taste and see and hear
forgiveness in his sweet heart.
All too kindly he bestowed upon me
the pleasures I had forgotten.
I was struck dumb...blind...deaf
by my own selfish desires.
He is so accustomed to beauty that, now,
I burn with embarrassment.
Fly away mon colombe.
Flutter up into the tree mein Taube
and wait there for me.
Paix.

Nice. I like this part:

Let me only taste and see and hear
forgiveness in his sweet heart.
All too kindly he bestowed upon me
the pleasures I had forgotten.
I was struck dumb...blind...deaf
by my own selfish desires.

the "see, taste, hear forgiveness" is beautiful.

if it isn't a published poem, I would change the order to " I was struck blind--deaf--dumb--"

Oh....I was so hoping you were going to say...."if it isn't a published poem, it should be". But I thank you for your suggestion and your compliment. :)

I loved it that you began in languages other than English. Reminded me a bit of one of the few children's songs I know in German (which I will probably misspell):

Kommt ein fogel geflogen,
sitz er neider auf mein fuss...

and I enjoyed the whole of your poem. Thank you.

Mon prince...thank YOU!

And you have a good memory for your childhood songs...however, Vogel, I think.

Shouldn't 'Taube' be capitalised?

This reads very well.

I loved this. It is so beautiful I didn't care what the first two lines meant. I knew they must be precious.

Well! I did express my admiration for this, didn't I? and that was before I knew who the author was. So I will reiterate my appreciation of it and my intrigue that you are a polyglot!

And yes, it should be published! Try a book called The Poet's Market for the current year to find magazine markets. Pay is usually author's copies of the magazines, but they are nice to show to people! http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l108/AbsalomKane/Smilies/Appaluse.gif
