This is ridiculous. I come here for all and any information about anything. Anyways, I'm going to get a 4GB blue ipod but because I don't want to fork over quite that much money I'm going to get a refurbished one. Do you think I should buy a brand-new one or refurbished? It'll be used when I go on trips or vacations. I won't be using it at home which means I won't be using it hours every day. And I'm really careful with my stuff (my Mom left her crystals around the house when I was a toddler, that's how careful I am) so it should last a very long time. And finally, should I get it from Amazon or Costco? Thanks all; I thought I'll ask since it seems many people here own ipods.

costco, they have the lowest prices, if your going to be using it for vacations and stuff, get a new one, not the refurbished one, if it's refurbished, you don't know how the other owner took care of it, fork over the money and it will last forever

I'm on the fence, is there warranty on the refurbished one? If so I might go for that one.

There are other types of mp3 players though...I'm just saying even though I have an ipod, but I use mine religiously. You can get another kind of mp3 player for cheaper than an iPOD...

If you won't use it all the time (24/7, like I do) then its best to get a regular mp3 player... much cheaper. And even if you take care of it to the best of your abilities, iPods, typically after about a year, start having problems. Right after the 1-year warranty ends, without a doubt - trouble will start abrewin' with that iPod.

I love mine too!!! I have a 30GB one...but I listen to music 24/7...but yeah, if you won't use it that much, I wouldn't blow a bunch of money on a Ipod or risk not getting good quality...go for a regular mp3 player. There are some really cool ones too!:)
