Irish Birthday In Canada
(To the beat of Ghost Riders in the Sky)

Well he rode hard and fast across the Canadian plains—
Hell-bent for leather, red shirt flashing as he passed.
He was a Royal Mounted, but Dudley Doright was not his name—
He was an IrishCanadian, faster than the Flash.
You know what they say about the Mounties they always get their man—
Undeterred by cold or rainy weather, hear the hoof-beats on the wind.
This villain was very tricky, he had a dark and evil plan—
The Mounties were not taking any chances, Irish was the best one they could send.
Silence reigned among the mountain passes where the snow is wet and deep—
Irish followed a forgotten trail known to only the wild things.
Turning sharp around a boulder he came upon a Cougar fast asleep—
And his horse reared up in terror, afraid the great cat might awake and spring….
Irish was amazed when the Cougar just winked a lazy green eye and hissed:
“It’s about darn time you got here, Irish, hang on. I get your birthday gift.”
