ummmm......i think i would take...probably a blank notebook and a supply of pens / pencils, so i could write a big list of things i wish i had taken with me! *^_____^*

Cairns is beautiful - except you need to beware of the jellyfish that like to sting and hurt you (read, kill you), so its actually better to go out to a river - love the pic!!!

Is there a "best month" to be in the ocean? For surfing, scuba etc...no box jellys?

There is a better time of the year to swim and not get stung, as to when that is I have no idea! You swim in the 'stinger nets', but the little ratbags can still get through!

That's such a cruel hoax. The water calls to you with it's inviting beauty and then stings the crap out of you. I saw a show on the Discovery channel talking about the Irukandjii box jelly, really interesting. Little ratbag is right!:flare: These scientists got stung on the lip and finger and about died. She was really sick for about 3 weeks. Makes the great white seem like something you can at least deal with.
