All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, so the saying goes! :D

I'm a fan of many sports: rugby, boxing, rugby league, cricket, basketball, soccer, motor racing, fishing, track & field and horse-racing.

I haven't seen much sport being talked around here, but there are plenty of members, so BRING IT ON!!!!

Just to lay out the ground rules...

There is only one rule:

Anything sport [and let's be open on that meaning!] is allowed! From croquet to rhythmic gymnastics, let's talk sport!

I'll kick the ball off:

I'm a former [pretty average] rugby forward who has had a crack at most things over the years, but now reduced to watching - apart from coaching my son's team of little rugby guys.

And fishing. Always the fishing! Best fish never caught? Mako shark 500lbs. Trolling near Bay of Islands, NZ, I was watching the bait when a monster mako took it, but threw the hook. Best catch? 200lb stingray, 100lb mako, 20 lb snapper.

Mea culpa, I know I've left out hockey, basketball and cricket, but there are only 10 options.

You can vote "other" and tell us what it is!

I played rugby (real rugby that is - union, none of that silly league nonsense;) ) myself (scrum half). Played for glasgow schools U-15's - that was the highpoint of my athletic career.

Have a few medals from my career as a football goalie as well - nothing much intercity BB stuff.

Nice to see a few other people who had the stones to play Rugby :D (hooker myself, 3 years in high school). Also did some Olympic weightlifting till I tore my quad and that pretty much killed my athletic career. Now I just do distance running to keep the flab off hah ;)

I just went to a semi-professional baseball game this weekend. It was pretty interesting. The best seats in the house were $9.

My brother hunts! He is obsessed! Especially with waterfowl...hmmm. It is annoying though, constantly hearing the duck calls...erg. He is pretty passionate. Sounds like you are too!

On TV, I usually watch ~=Football=~ The English Premier League or the UEFA Champions League or just about any league:) Manchester United's ma team..Glory Glory ManUnited!! :banana:Too bad, its off-season now, though. I have to wait until August..
Kilt, you are a goalie? cool. What's your favorite football team?

The sport I play is badminton; sometimes, I run too.. I am also quite interested in Kung Fu, so I can become a true warrior! Like in the Chinese films..

Man U are useless. They annoy me, especially Rooney & Ronaldo. Rooney is possibly the most overrated english player since Beckham. Ronaldo is a "pretty boy" who dives too much, has only one ability (the step over) and is lucky not to get snapped in half most games (also he always looks on the verge of crying)

My team is the famous glasgow rangers.

We are Rangers
Super Rangers
No one Likes us

Well, I'm more of the type to stay indoors all day, but I do like sailing. I haven't tried archery or fencing yet, but I really want to.

me too. I absolutely love to swim.

I'm really not a sports person at all - there aren't any sports that I particularly watch (although I do get into the olympics from time to time). but I just love swimming. and someday I would like to try open water swimming, but I would need to be considerably more in shape than I am now.

Going with Virgil on this...Baseball!!

My Cleveland Indians are leading the AL Central, hopefully it'll keep. ;) They're far from perfect though; they ought to make the playoffs but they definitely need to work on their weak spots on the pitching roster and plug that awful gap in the middle of the batting order. The fielding, however, is gorgeous and the best in the league in my opinion!

When it comes to most other sports I prefer college to professional, especially in American football. (Go Buckeyes!) Though really I don't mind pro.

Personally: I figure skated competitively for about five years and did archery for another two. For a while I took fencing, for fun. Now I just play tennis very badly and bike around.

So what exactly do you hunt?

Let's see...... I've hunted:
Ducks, geese, pheasant, grouse, pigeons (both feathered & clay), rabbit, fox, deer, elk, moose... there's probably lots more that I can't think of at the moment.

This is the part I'm going to get in trouble for....

I've been gone with the Inuit on several occasions and hunted seals, polar bears, and whales.

Be it known that I eat everything I kill.... I'm not in it for bloodlust... nothing is wasted.... circle of life, yadda yadda yadda... I just see myself (and all humans) at the top of the food chain.

I like to use guns. Not for killing animals though (i prefer killing men:P). It's fun. I also enjoyed playing basketball in past, i was quite good as a playmaker though i don't play basketball since long time. Other sports i do; chess, ping-pong and pool. Only sport i enjoy to watch is soccer exhibitions and sometimes snooker.

I'm not in it for bloodlust...

No you are not. But it makes you feel more man, more masculine! Yadda yadda yadda! ;)

I HATE Man Utd, i can't stand nobody in that club for last 15 years except Ryan Giggs. Rio, Ferguson, Beckham, Irwin, O'Shea, Jerry and Phil :bawling: :bawling:
Only Arsenal.

We was robbed. Stupid referees need to learn the offside rule:

1) It was an American who last touched the ball.

2) The player who scored was not in an offside position

3) The player who was in an offside position was not interfering with play in any way.

It should have gone to extra time. Canada would've won in extra time cos they'd taken control of the game.

Yes, well there are a couple of All Blacks who helped that along!

Ireland always has great players, just not enough of them in the forwards.
