I have a question concerning a certain line in the book. There is a moment when The Golden One tells Equality 7-2521, "You are not one of our brothers, Equality 7-2521, for we do not wish you to be." What did she mean exactly?

I read Anthem a few weeks ago, so my memory is not perfect concerning the details of the text.
I believe, however, that The Golden One was telling the narrator that he was unlike the rest of men. By saying "we do not wish you to be," she further informs him that her affections toward him are at least partially motivated by his uniqueness from the average, hive-minded person.

Indeed, it is definitely a mark of respect toward The Unconquered (aka Equality 7-2521). I think also that it is to do with the Golden One's realisation that she too is an individual and although she uses the "we" she demostrates that "she" rather than "they" have an opinion that is entirely hers. By recognising his individuality she has recognised her own. Like all of Rand's work I have read, the romantic shines through...in this case two people becoming outsiders for the sake of their love for each other.
