I think it's east. All western civilizations were ''produced'' by eastern civilizations. China, India, Mesopotamia (area between Euprath and Tigris), Arabia...are old more then 5000 years, some even more. There architecture, and practical knowledge surpasses western knowledge, we have learned almost everything from them.
On the west, you can talk about only two great civilizations and culture: Ancient Rome and Ancient Greece. They are not that old and they actually influenced one on another so you can't watch them separately.
You have forgot ( or I'm not sure on which side of the world did you put them), but Maye, Inca or Aztecs are civilizations which we cannot forget.
