i like the way this one sounds, is it just the way i dictate it?

It’s not fair,
When you reach a fork in the middle,
Of the road and don’t even know it’s there.
It’s not fair,
To be covered in protective skin,
Even though your inner mind hurts more.

Twixt in sheets of forgotten losses
Memory lapsed leaving people elsewhere
It’s not fair,
It’s not fair,
It’s not fair.

But through the photographs
I see history exhaling,
And living on revered breaths,
Treading text book steps to no where,
I was somewhere I was someone,

pw04
I feel nothing.

*mouth agape* I don't know how you did that.
Why are musicians so much better at writing poetry than me?! :D
Wow.

LOL yes indeed. I think I'll be the first person in history to ruin a CD just by listening to it too many times. (Mer de Noms, that is.) Actually, I don't know why it feels silly to say this it shouldn't, Maynard's lyrics -- or should I say poetry -- are what have kept me looking for the inspiration to write. It just proves what you can do if you can just get your own psychology and all that English class stuff to work together sometimes. :D

That line, "I see history exhaling" is perfect. It says simply what history is and how it effects us, barely touching people that read about it and how you cannot live on the past. Applause.

i apologise for my intellect being lower than my gratitude

i love the imagery of reaching a fork in the road, but not being aware of it. if one looks back over the course of his/her life it becomes obvious that there are many events that fit the description. and yes, it is unfair to not know that is what is happening. sometimes i think more care would be taken in deciding a course of action if you know that the results will lead you down a completely different path. well put.
i am now reflecting on my own choices. thanks a lot!

isn't the media of written word incredible, in this world of vast technology where soon it will undoubtably blow up in our faces, something so simple as verse can have such an effect.
and it's awesome how this website allows us to read and write a form which can change or support an opinion.
am i being too profound....
i just didn't really want to say "thanks" again, but cheers, i love these reactions to what i write. it's uplifting, whatever hand life deals at the certain time
