unfortunately it's pronounced "Mouzel"
Hey Sleepy! Don't you like cheese?
yep I do :) but mice prefer mint chocolate to cheese! seriously :)
my best friend is called Mouse (nickname) and she loves mint chocolate.
she got herself a book about animals and guess what? it said mice like mint chocolate much better than cheese and if you go to the forest and put a bit of mint chocolate on the ground you'll attract lots of mice!

Mice like the glue on the back of postage stamps too. The old kind, that you had to lick to get them to stick. I had mice in an old house that I lived in and they ate my stamps! I could tell because there were some left with little chew marks on them...plus some other "evidence" that a mouse had been around. Mice um..."go" a lot.

But being her name 'Mouse' wouldn't change the whole of her into a mouse! :p But I guess you are very right about mouse eating mint chocolate. Now it makes me dislike the mice even more! They eat our chocolates/cheese/other delicious stuff without asking us, and sometimes leave nothing for us! :p You see why women do not like mice?

Another reason for not liking mice. They jump around on the key-boards, play with keys, write things which the person who owns the keyboard would have never dared to write! These mice - they are the real conspirers, the real problem, the ones who manage to get even the most innocent of the people banned! How about an anti-mice society? :p

I have a terrible fear of mice that made 1984 even more horrifying. I can’t get over it. They are so cute in a cartoon or story book, but in real life I just want to leave all of my possessions and move away any time I think there might be a mouse. My husband finally got a lovely cat that keeps them at bay.

Now we would ask the famous question:
How many of us can honestly say that at one time or another he hasn't felt sexually attracted to mice? (We know we have.)
Well, we psychiatrists have found that over 8% of the population will always be mice, I mean, after all, there's something of the mouse in all of us. I mean, how many of us can honestly say that at one time or another he hasn't felt sexually attracted to mice? I know I have. I mean, most normal adolescents go through a stage of squeaking two or three times a day. Some youngsters on the other hand, are attracted to it by its very illegality. It's like murder - make a thing illegal and it acquires a mystique. Look at arson - I mean, how many of us can honestly say that at one time or another he hasn't set fire to some great public building? I know I have. The only way to bring the crime figures down is to reduce the number of offences - get it out in the open - I know I have.

back to mice the animal - can't say I mind them wehre they are expected - outdoors, garage, cages, but when you wake up in the morning, walk to the kitchen still asleep to make coffee...and find a mous stuck in your coffee pot, you get mad, maybe even a little grossed out, but then as yoda said...this lead to suffering... eventually you commit mass amounts of resources to all out technological warfare against the vermin! and from then on, you know that they are always plotting, never resting, regardless of where they are...
...so yeah, had the mice respected the dmz, I would not have a problem with them...before, if they were in the house I would'nt mind so much...but mouse + my coffee = war.

Why do women not like mice men?
Researchs showed women "scared" of mouse when men are around. Normally they don't overreact when they see a mouse.

Why do man like mice? and bother about whether woman like mice or not? :argue:
Well, we can't be sure if they like mice or not...
ALRIGHT!!! I've been waiting for an appropriate moment to tell this story for a long time!
I had moved in with my partner a mere 2 or 3 months prior to the following events. First, you should know that he's the sweetest kindest gentlest giant I've ever met. He's a 6 foot 6 inch tall barrel chested behemoth that will cause a 20 car smash-up on the highway by jamming on the brakes rather than run over the critter (squirrel, chipmunk, 'possum, whatever) that dashes in front of his car. I've seen him capture spiders, flies, moths, etc. in the house and release them unharmed outside. The only thing I've ever seen him kill are mosquitoes.
Anyway, one night, the three of us (him, me & the dog) are all sound asleep (au naturel) under the covers in one big pile in the center of our queen sized (how appropriate) bed. Around 3am he feels a tickle on the back of his leg. It's not me or the dog.... we're both on the other side of him... he turns on the light and peels back the covers to find a little black field-mouse settling in for a nap.
This is where the shrieking begins.
Some of you may know from my previous posts that I DO NOT wake up well.
It takes a lot of noise to rouse me and I NEVER wake up in a good mood.
3am. Suddenly, very bright lights... the whole bed is shaking... I hear screaming... "AAAAAAAGH! A MOUSE! WAKE UP! A MOUSE! IT WAS IN THE BED WITH US! AAAAAAAGH! WHERE DID IT GO?! A MOUSE! WAKE THE #%@* UP!"
My eyes pry themselves open to see a very large, very naked man standing up, hopping around on the bed, cupping his genitals as if this mouse were a Doberman trained to attack the most vulnerable parts of an intruder.
I couldn't help but laugh. I looked at the dog, she gave me that look that says "I am SO outta here" and proceeded to go to the guest-room for some peace & quiet.
I asked, "Is the mouse still in the bed?"
"No, it ran off when I screamed."
"Did you see where it went?"
"No."
"Then come back to bed and get some sleep.... I'll get some traps in the morning."
"No way! I am not sleeping in those mouse-dirtied sheets"
"O.K., If we change the sheets, will you come back to bed?"
"Yes, but I'll never get back to sleep."
So we change the sheets and go back to bed (the dog never rejoins us). In the morning I go out and buy some mouse traps, the old-fashioned snap kind.
Over the course of the next week we find that our mouse is a genius. It manages to eat all of the bait without setting off a single trap. So, I go out and buy different traps, the glue kind. Still, the mouse eludes capture... the same, however, cannot be said of the dog. On several occasions the dog came limping into the room with a glue-trap stuck to one paw or another (on one occasion she managed to get one stuck to the side of her face).
About 6 weeks go by, filled with a variety of traps, mouse-raided breakfast cereal, occasional sightings, LOTS of mouse-proofing, and no results. We 3 are enjoying a quiet night on the couch in front of a rented movie, when my partner yells "There he goes!! Into the guest bedroom! HA HA! We've got him now, I sealed up every crack and crevice in that room with that expanding foam sealant stuff.... he's trapped!! C'mon, the hunt is ON!"
Never go mouse-hunting with a man that is afraid of mice. Despite the fact that he is 6'6", armed with a broom and wearing size 16 combat boots; and the mouse is MAYBE 4 inches long; he cringes away every time the mouse scurries in his direction. After nearly an hour of chasing the mouse (long since named Nicodemus) around the room I am finally able to toss a towel over it and capture it. Holding it up by it's tail I realize that little Nicodemus is ADORABLE! He's got a nice silky coat, the cutest little nose, twitchy little whiskers and those inky black little eyes are staring directly into my soul.
I say, "Can we keep him?"
"NO! I want that hateful, bubonic-plague carrying, cereal stealing, trap evading @$#%^$%##^&*(%^%#^*& DEAD!!"
"Here... go take him out and kill him, then..."
"Are you crazy!?! I'm not going to touch that thing!"
"Guess I'm the killer in this family then, eh?"
"Yes you are, now get to it!"
So, I took Nicodemus outside walked away from the house for about a mile and set him free.
When I got back the questions began.
"Did you do it?"
"Yes" (a little white lie)
"Is it dead?"
"Yes, dear" (another lie.... I'm going to hell)
"Did it die a slow painful death?"
"NO! What kind of monster do you think I am?"
"Good, that was the right answer"
The very next day he presented me with a little black mouse figurine as a memento of our uninvited house-guest. To this day the ceramic Nicodemus sits on my bed-side table.

wuuuaahhahhhaha
what a story!
hey, when I still lived with my parents, we had a genius mouse, too.
my mum set some traditional snap traps but it ate the food out of them, just like your Nicodemus.
then my dad got one of those wire cage thingies. it was shaped like an igloo and had an opening on top, so the mouse had to crawl head-first into a kind of tube of parallel wires. this tube narrowed down towards the inside of the igloo, so the mouse should get stuck and not be albe to crawl out backwards.
but he managed somehow! he stole the food from that contraption three nights in a row.
http://wyeriverantiques.tripod.com/moustrap2.JPG
so my dad put an empty wine bottle with some cheese in it flat on the floor and propped the upper end up with a wedge of wood. so once the beasty was inside, it would slide down the inside of the bottle and would have a hard time trying to climb out again... well, you can guess how well that worked.

my boyfriend is absolutely terrified of mice (and I see that some others here have male significant others who don't like mice too :) )
so, it's definitely all about me saving him rather than the other way around, at least where mice (and other small animals, whether flying or scurrying) are concerned.

I'm not afraid of mice, but I'm pretty squeamish about spiders. They're fine outside the house, but they invade every spring and fall here. It is too cold at night so the come in the house. The worst part is that the ones we get are about the size of a half dollar and poisonous.

heh when I was little ( somewhere between 4-6) I had this reucurring nightmare about falling into the toilet and meeting poo coloured devils. I was something to do with a cartoon that was an adaption of some classic or other (I know this because the style of the drawring was of a series of 2 hour cartoons that were dramtisation of classics lots of dickens moby dick and a few others) anyway all I rember was this guy fell down a hole an ended up in hell and all the devils that were brown. It got so bad that I was actually afraid to go to the toilet on somedays. I rember when I first discover rats came up through the toilets when I was 11 or 12 the first thought that flashed through my brain was " Ahhh what if one decides to pop up while Im on the toilet and pushes me in". Completly irrational but it was the first thought that popped into my head.
I wonder if that cartoon was supposed to be Dante's seven circles of hell there were all sorts of nasty tortures going on.
RE OP maybe we have a shared memory of the pied pier? all those ids lost because of mice.
