has anyone here read Diana Gabaldon's "the Outlander" series, or any of the books in the series?
I always get so excited when i find another person who has, but they seem to be few and far between.
so, with all these readers on here, someone must have read it....Anyone?

ooohh...yes please do. my favorite book of all time. well written, with characters that you cannot help but fall in love with. a little bit of drama, politics, fantasy, comedy, romance, adventure.....it has it all. it is set in pre-jacobite scotland too, so there is a definite historical element as well. Enjoy!!
I read the first four, but found the Fiery Cross just more of the same. Happens sometimes with a series. They were terrific reading though. I highly recommend. Full of action, adventure, romance, and educational in an historic sense. These are chick books though guys, I don't think you'd enjoy.
Cheers,
Lara

Lara....YAY thank you so much for reading them. if you would like to talk about them at all..you know where to find me!
and you are right about the fifth being more of the same but i disagree about the whole chick book thing. my ex read the first one and he really liked it. it does have some romance in it, but also a lot of war/politics stuff in it...enough epic to keep him interested. and the same thing...love the characters
