What did you all think about the last episode of the Sopranos? I've watched the Sopranos on and off, but when I caught this last episode I thought I'd share my thoughts on it, because it really did show the lyric moment.
The ending was just magnificent. For me it was like watching the lyric moment transpose itself on the viewer. All I thought about watching the last scene of Tony, his wife, his son(AJ), and his daughter Meadow(outside trying to parallel park), was the customers. Watching a lone customer come in, then another lone customer(with Italian features, it seemed), then two African American customers come in, was filling my mind with thoughts and worries about what one of these customers might possibly do to Tony or his family…then into my mind comes a quote from AJ when addressing his father, which went something like “just focus on the good times.” I mean, wow! Not only did this message resonate in the context of the storyline, but on me, the viewer, as well. It’s like all this time I’m watching this scene and worrying about what might go wrong that I, myself, am filling my head with only worrying thoughts. And then the abrupt ending, the black screen, leaves those worries lingering in my mind.
