I know there is some controversy about whether or not he actually wrote his masterpiece, Quiet Flows the Don, one of the reasons being that his other books are so completely different and not as well written. I'm currently reading his Seeds of Tomorrow which is the first half of a volume that has also been published under the name Virgin Soil Upturned. My question is, is this book considered his or is this part of the whole Quiet Flows the Don picture. I know it is consider part 3 and 4 of the Don Saga but is there also controversy about his authorship of these volumes as well as the first two?

Not one so called episode of plagiarism was proven, which means that we cannot say that this or that part is considered his or not his. By the rule of the assumption of innosence he is the author.

I'm not really asking if people think he's the author or not, I'm just wondering if this is one of the books in dispute.

He should have written less. It's full of sloppy sentiment. He was a poodle of the new masters of the Russian Empire

well, I beg your pardon for interpreting your request wrongly, Your Majesty.
I think no specific data is available on that particular question of yours....I've read only that there are parts (rather smaller parts than a whole book) that seem suspicious but nothing more... Some scientists believe that his relatives've done some editting there...and other parts might have been taken from another author. But as I've said in the first post--nothing was proven.
