Franklin is erroneously perceived by many as some old fuddy-duddy wandering through tired pages of American history and folklore. "A penny saved is a penny earned" (and related quotes) has served to distort Franklin's image; his intellect, amazing talents and skills, scope of experience and disarming sense of humor are often overlooked. His Autobiography (while unfinished) is a superb work that allows the reader a look at a truly great American...of flesh and blood, who was even young once!

Thank you, Logos. All of Franklin's writings are a delight, but the AUTOBIOGRAPHY is in a class of its own. Being a Dickens fan, I've always enjoyed the autobiographical style of writing. Of course, Franklin doesn't have Dickens talent for writing, but his subject (his life in colonial America) seems to almost equal the best in Dickens.

You know Grey Fox, you just reminded me that I was to read that and I have forgotten. I understand it is the model of autobiographies.

Great that you are putting that on our ebooks Logos. :thumbs_up Thanks.
