JT, if you want views on your poetry, it might be nice if you occasionally deigned to comment on the work of others. It's no good showing up on a board like this and just asking for opinions. It looks arrogant, even if that's not the way it's meant.

Dear blp, You have reason. But I asked for, mainly, a commentary for the phrase « THE POETRY IS THE SUFFERANCE...», to open a debate...

OK. I didn't really think you were arrogant. It's just there was so little elucidation of the question before you directed us to your blog that it looked a bit like the question was an excuse.

I wonder if you meant the question to be 'suffering'. Perhaps, but perhaps not. 'Sufferance' means something much more like forbearance, tolerance, the ability to endure suffering. It can feel very much like poetry is my sufferance, though not my suffering. I don't know about other poets. But it's a great thing, poetry, when it works. It can feel like what makes life worth living.
