I was just wondering if anyone else has read these (Out of the Silent Planet, Perelendra, That Hideous Strength). I just reread them for the first time since I was really little, and there's more to them than I thought.

I have read them, the whoe trilogy actually, but probably about 25 years ago...my memory is a bit hazy. I confess that Lewis's Narnia stories stuck in my mind a great deal more.

For me too, at least the first time I read them, but the second time through I was surprised by the depth of the story and by the richness of the theological aspects.

Hmm..maybe a few more books for me to add to the summer reading/re-reading list.

I enjoyed Out of the Silent Planet and Perelandra is one of my favorite books (sort of like Lewis's Paradise Lost, really), but That Hideous Strength confused me a bit the last time I read it. Now that I understand the time period surrounding WWII a little better, the book might make more sense. I should try it again.

I also found it confusing the first time, but I reread it and, since I now knew the plot of it, I found it easier to follow, and incredibly rich. I think you might want to give it another shot.
