I just wanted to share a bit of beautiful news with you...I've just recieved notice that a publishing company wants to publish my newly self-published book of poetry, Love Letters. I'm so proud! Also, one of my poems, Patterns, was chosed for publication ina National book of Poetry. The same people also nominated me for Poet of the Year 2007, so I'll be going to their convention and reading my poetry. There will be a chance of cash prizes, so wish me luck!

On the personal side, I've missed visiting this forum. I didn't visit often enough, although I loved the poetry thread and love reading everyone's lovely contributions.

Anyway, lots of love and creative impetus to all the writers. If you don't mind, I will share with you here two of my poems. I wrote them for my beautiful, my cherished and protected children.

Z ipping up your coat, I finish dressing you and turn you
A round to face me once more just to make sure everything's alright.
C arefully, I hold you still while I brush the soft brown
H air off your face and kiss your cheek before you break my hold and run
A way into the sunlight--into the world, into life--to play.
R un back into my arms when you need me, my love, and remember I'll always love
Y ou...for you are the sunlight I ran into when I left my own mother's arms.

I n her eyes are the stars that sparkle in the night
S ky. I watch her rocket through the house and think, "You
A re so beautiful I should wish on you every day." I'll
B et all my wishes would come true...and yet...they already have. She is
E very mother's dream, and of all the star's in the cosmos, my
L ittle daughter, my beautiful little daughter, is the star of my eye.
