Did you know that your brain has a "gender"?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/sex/

My brain is MASCULINE but with some female traits like empathasing and reading emotions in people's faces :-)

Whats your Brain's Gender? :-)

Try it out if you dare :-)

Regards,
Lote

I'm seem to be quite balanced, a lot of my results contained this, " balanced female-male brain". I was very empthetic though, that was my most feminine trait, that and the fact that apparently, I like very masculine faces, although I already knew that. :p

hehe, I've taken this test twice before and each time it said my brain was female ("50" or something.. half way between balanced male-female and purely female; three quarters female), although I did rather well on some of the visual thingy tests...
yep, I prefer masculine faces too....

i sucked at reading emotions in people's faces although I'm usually quiet good at that in RL... I think most of those faces looked weird and it didn't really help that they were black and white

my boyfriend's brain is just as feminine as mine, even though in real life he's the systematic one and hopeless at reading peoples faces... he cheated at the vocabulary test though... he gave smiling, laughing, giggling as synonyms of happy, while I stuck to adjectives
... and he wrote hair, bear, hat, trousers, undies, socks as words to which GREY applies...
YES, bear rhymes with hair, but how many grey bears have you seen?

Very interesting!

My score is in the middle of men and women, a little bit more man-ish. I scored the highest in Angles: 18/20, and then second-highest in Systemising which was 14/20. I also didn't do well in "Emotions and Systems".

Very amusing :D
My result is 50 Female, which is quite logical. I'm hopeless with turning shapes, but scored 9 out of 10 defining emotions.

well I don't have a ruler handy so I had to stop, but I seemed to be quite female with the results so far....could that be because I put in a feminine name to begin with? What if I said my name was something like Jamie --- I have known both boys and girls with that name.

My brain is 25 on the female side. What's really weird is that I score comepletely different on the tests. I mean, it'll say that I'm better at science, then it will say I'm better at art. *shrug*

I've always known that I was a bit more masculine. Most of the people I admire are men, I hardly ever wear a skirt or dress, and they way females think is...annoying...sometimes. I think I hang out with my dad too much. ^^' At least I still have some woman-brain in there.

I sucked at the first two sections. For the measuring of the hand (What does that have to do with your brain?) part my fingers were too small to measure so I just put 10 mm for all of them. XD

I was surprised about how I like more masculine faces better. Especially since I have a thing for men in breeches in stockings. But that has nothing to do with their face.

The funny thing was that after trying to turn a couple of shapes I understood that my brain simply erm...ok, something clicked and i just couldn't visualise those shapes any more at all! so i just had to make a blind guess as well. I think i got only like...3 out of 12 there.

No no, it was timed! However, even if it wasn't the task itself is a bit too much for the poor little brain of mine  I can't stand geometry. So it's a longterm hate between me and the shapes! :D

Apparently we have a male brain. 50.
Got 19 of 20 angles and 11 of the 12 rotations which strongly point to male brain. Spot the difference was 36 % which is in the middle, we guess.
We turn out to be a lousy empathizer, and not very good on systemizing too. Didn't do those eyes well too. Concerning fingers, on one hand, they were of the same length and on the other they varied two millimetres so beats us.
We tend to prefer more feminine faces.
Did well on words, though, considering that english is not my native tongue - 15 and 8, respectively.
On sharing the money, We saw logically that the best option is 49 dollars as it is more useful for the other player to accept than to decline.

Guess being a good mathematician giving us strong logical thinking and making our brain a male one makes us sort of a odd one, a pariah, almost, in this almost-totally androgynous forum.

Well, not a good one. So it makes sense. :p

Anyway, I found it surprising (and interesting too, I admit) that I got such fine marks in 'rotation' and 'angles'. I have never been good in math!

Well, there was one thing I didn't like much about the test. One of them was in the 'emotions and feelings' part. The one who scores more in it, I think they put him in "woman-ish" category, but I think men are also good in this thing, they have proved to be good writers and painters in the past. Many men have been good poets. They are not even less than women in recognising emotions and feelings (at least that's how I feel). And I think that's not fair. Perhaps it's a silly idea I have got but that's the feeling I have got.

I came out precisely in between male and female. I got all the rotating shapes and all the objects that had moved around right, and I scored high on the verbal and the empathetic, but definitely worst on the angle thing at the beginning (that was harder than it looked!), and I only got 50% of the eyes right. The thing I found funniest was the hand measurement though, because apparently I have a very masculine finger ratio. I never would have guessed.

I got the extremely surprising result of masculine. It wasn't even in the middle, so I am apparently not androgynous, but at least it wasn't all the way over to completely masculine, more like a quarter of the way.

Not that a masculine brain is a bad thing, but it struck me very funny because I always think of myself as rather "girly". Pink actually is my favorite color. I got all 20 of the angle things correct, most of the geometic shapes, I couldn't remember many of the items that were moved (they said it is a feminine trait to know where things are! HA! ) and my finger ratio is rather manly. But I also scored high with empathy, even though I had a somewhat difficult time with the eyes.
I guess I am a little freakish...

Mmm, forgot...my score was 25 on the male spectrum part of the graph.

Additionally, I would wonder how much of this is innate biology (finger ratios apparently being the result of the amount of testosterone one is exposed to in the womb) and how much is a result of thousands of years of conditioning? Nature vs nurture and alll that.

I got a female brain that is very close to being in the middle 50/50 male/female.

I'll have to show my husband this- because was just saying how I am all woman, and like a guy, too...it sounds bad now typing it--but he didn't mean it badly!

I'm (or rather my brain is) right in the middle between female and male.
My best task was actually the one with the 3D shapes.

This task tested your ability to mentally rotate 3D shapes.

Your score: 10 out of 12
Average score for men: 8.2 out of 12
Average score for women: 7.1 out of 12

What does your result suggest?
If you scored 10 - 12: Are you an engineer or do you have a science background?
Noooo way !

This was real fun, I enjoyed this test! I was surprised to score 12 out of 12 in rotating shapes and only 4 out of 12 in the spatial thingy; other than that, pretty normal. 25% male brain, which is exactly what I expected, since I'm in literature, an area mostly populated by women. All that estrogene around obviously affects me :p

Wow, Virgil, I guess. Are you good at finding things, or remembering where things are? Women are supposed to be good at that, and that was one of the sections I did the worse on. Sometimes I lose my glasses and then I am really in trouble because I can't see without them.

A recent survey conducted among women across the world revealed that at most times of the month, their idea of the ideal man is one who has pleasant features, a good sense of humour and is somewhat taller than they are.

When they are pre-menstrual, however, they prefer to visualize men with a hatchet in their foreheads.
