Well this is my first post on these forums so I'd better introduce myself! My name's Elisha. I'm 20 and I love everything to do with poetry. My faves are Edna Millay and Emily Dickinson! I don't really read too much of anything else. Abit of suspense novels/horror or fantasy occasionally but most of the stuff I read is poetry (and non-fiction stuff)..
I thought I would post a poem I made up today. I've been really distressed lately so I pulled this rabbit out the hat. I kind of like it, although it's terribly disjointed and unconstructed. Crap too everyone else but I myself am not as hard to please:lol: half the time I don't even know what I'm wiriting..it's just rampsnt ramblings..trying to sort things out from my head to the paper..you know?
I haven't a title for it..don't think I will bother. It hardly needs one!
Oh,
Worry; and to worry
To fret, and to fret!
Let your heart not be troubled
It’s not over yet!
To worry brings worry
And fear begets fear
And sorrow quickly follows
Behind a quiet tear
So don’t worry
Or be worried
About those things not yet come to pass
In all the madness and all the heartache
We shall not let it last…
And the past is where it should be
No illusions could alter the rushes of time
No time could alter these illusions of mine;
For the art of distraction is a mighty thing
What perfect bliss;
to leave your head in the clouds
What fools word can hurt us now?
Where doubt is not let in for our sake;
Where there is no cause for concern or heartbreak
No matter what happens the ends shall justify the means
After all, and as you know,
Nothing here is what it seems.
