View Full Version : A Specific Time of the Day?

I am really curious to know is there a specific time in a day when you feel more comfortable to read a novel? Now as my summer vacations have started, it has occured to me that I can't read much in day-time. It's mostly the night time when I enjoy the book a lot more! I don't know why. In my home, it's mostly quiet, even in the day, so silence/peace can't be a reason...
Have you ever got this feeling that you like reading more at a time than the other? If, then do you know why is that? :)

I like to read outside during the day in nice weather, but I think overall I am with you in the idea the night time is better. I love to curl up in bed and read and now I find I can't relax to go to sleep until I have read for awhile.

I usually don't have time to read during the day, maybe on vacations.
so yes, in the evening or even late at night.

late evening and night are more preferable for me as well...Everything that's been planned for the day is usually done by that time....so I can relax and read for my pleasure.

I tend to read at night, just before bed. Unless its a horror novel then I'll read that in the afternoon.

For me, it's the opposite. I can't enjoy a scary novel in day-time. All horror movies and novels - I love to see/read them during night, at the dead of night no matter how many nightmares they bring me! :D

Heh, that doesn't make you a coward. At least you don't start being hysterical whenever you see lizard near you, unlike me? :p

Well I always get up early on school days just to read because I know I won't have the energy to the rest of the day.
Around and just before sunrise.

I like to read at night (heh, cause thats usually when I'm awake since I work the night shift... *sigh*) I find I don't like reading during daylight, unless its a particularly interesting book, Or I have nothing else to do (I know it sounds bad) during daylight hours (when I'm not sleeping) I prefer to do something physical, like ride my bike, or go bowling, mow the lawn etc... but I must say I can't sleep unless I read something.

 Papaya, I thought you were grown up. :D
As to the question, I do tend to read at night, but that's because my schedule is so complicated during the day. But I'll sneak in some reading whenever I get the chance. Good question Pensy.
