Just a question. Does anyone think this world would be a much better place if our political leaders followed a chivalric code? I tend to believe if we had people that believed in honor, and made moral decisions then our world would be a much better place.

The Old South took chivalry from novels and turned it into a culture. It beliefs that even after slavery became unprofitable, they retained it, simply because it was part of their chivalricmore important than the actual fact is absurd. code. made them so steadfast in their beliefs that they retained slavery even after it ceased to be profitable. It is nice to be polite to other people, but making the appearances of politeness

Yes, there's a 100-pager from the Renaissance that everyone should consider, The Book of the Courtier, by Castiglioni. If followed, wars would turn into pleasant talkfests.
