Chinese Fictions

For some reason I really love books taking place in or about China such as those written by Amy Tan and Ha Jin. Right now I'm reading Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress by Dai Sijie. Can anyone recommend me any other good Chinese fictions (probably also written by Chinese authors, lol)?

<Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress> has been made as a movie in China. I watched it before.

There is an American author whose name is(i might be mistaken) Pearl S. Buck, she's been writing some novels about China. She had lived in China for many years I guess. One of her novel called< The pavilion of woman> has also been adapted into a movie years ago. I saw it too,and I liked it much.

Yea, I'm not from China, but I actually do have a Chinese background. It may explain my preference for Chinese writers. :p
Yes, I have read all of Amy Tan's novel, and as for Pearl S. Buck, yes, I actually have heard of her! But her last name doesn't sound too Chinese, lol, so I forgot about her for awhile. Anyways, I'll be asking for more Chinese writers once I finished all of Buck's novels. Bye now.

I hardly read novels. I guess we are quite different at this point. Cuz U sound like u r a novel-lover. I am definitely not. I'm a lazy person. Too lazy to read. Enjoy ur belongings. Chew your books. Thunder ur laugters.

Have you read any of Maxine Hong Kingston's novels or poetry? Her stuff tends to deal more with Chinese Americans than strickly Chinese. I read "Tripmaster Monkey" a while back and was struck by her prose. She has a historical novel out, "China Men," I haven't read it but it's gotten good reviews.

Pearl S. Buck is a great author, I remember using The Good Earth for a book report in high school and becoming entranced in her description of China and it's customs. I read the little seamstress too, but wasn't dueling impressed by it, there was little ingenuity in it, and I found the story lacking in action and content.
