BookMooch - Book Trading Site

I recently came across this site, essentially it's a trading system where you list books you want rid of and can swap them for other people's books. The way it works is that whenever you send a book away, you get given points (1 if it's to someone in your own country and 3 if it's abroad) and for every point you have you can "mooch" a book from someone else. That means if you send one book away to another country, you can get three books back. Has anyone ever tried this before? I'm thinking there must be some catch because it seems too good to be true.

Book Mooch does work as it is basically people willing to swap/trade books that they do not want anymore for books they do want. It is quite difficult as popular/good books get snapped up pretty quickly but you have to be on the ball and watch for them. The international aspect of it, is ultimately down to cost as the points are in relation to the cost of posting which is more than understandable. It really is all about trust with this site as there are the very few who could be unreliable with the sending of books otherwise it is a gem of a website. Hope this helps.
