he he isn't there a litnet member with that same username or am I just trippin?

I am from the southern United States and I still live in the southern United States though I hope to live somewhere else for a short while at least.

I do like the south though. There are some charming accents here.

ooooh, I didn't know someone had that user name (sorreeeeeee whoever you are.)

Ummm, Shalot? Where's the south (like Kansas or soemthing?)

Shalot
05-27-2007, 10:17 PM
I guess I should have been a little more specific. I am from the southeast and not the southwest, but when you say, I am from the South, it's kind of assumed that you are from one of those backwoods states like Georgia Alabama or Tennessee for example.

Bakiryu

When somebody says they are from the south the first thing I do is find a compass! I have no sense of direction at alll, I just assumed you were from alaska or winsconsin *blush*

Shalot
05-27-2007, 10:29 PM
 you know what? The litnet member I was thinkning of has the username "shinigami." Is that the same? What is shinnigami anyway? Downhere in the backwoods I don't here words like that too often

:)

Bakiryu
05-27-2007, 10:45 PM
Shinnigami is the japanese word for death-god or deathgod-gods.
Where are you anyway! *Still can't figure where the south is*

It could be a farming state -- someone told me that the number one cash crop in Tennessee was marijuana but I don't know about all that. I've seen some corn fields and tobacco fields and we've got those smokey mountains. You can rent a cabin and go to pigeon forge or gatlinburg and buy a handmade quilt and some fudge but me I would rather go to the beach.

Actually tennessee is a very diverse state. Mountains in the east, apparently where Shalot lives and flat plains in the west where there is farming. From one end to the other is very long. BTW, I've been to Knoxville, Shalot, but I've always wanted to go to Memphis and listen to some great blues. Also the Smoky Mountains must be gorgeous.

I lived initially in Delhi (the place I was born), then my parents moved in the late 80's to the suburban area, that comes under the National Capital Region. There has been no other location change.

Shalot Are you thinking of Shinnanigin?

I believe Shalot is referring to shinigami (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/member.php?u=14264). She (shinigami, that is ) hasn't been around much lately.

So, are we talking about where we live? I am very boring. I was born in Massachusetts and I still live here...despite my "freakish" lack of a broad New England accent...:p

The area (although not the town) I live in is known as the Worcester Hills. Yes, it is very hilly...think hills like in San Francisco CA and then think much lesser known area in Massachusetts. Those California people don't know how lucky they are...deep snows on hills = driving disaster. I guess it sticks out in my mind because Massachusetts is not otherwise a mountainous (sp?) state.

I have an accent! it's a mix of english-spanish-french japanese kinda thing. Most people can't guess where I'm really from.

Ah i see. I didnt realise there was someone by that name here!
There is a town in northern Ireland called Castlewellen and it has the steepest decent and asent slope i have ever seen. you almost have to break going down, before you suddenly discover that you need to hit the excelerator just to get up! it goes straight down into a U shaped vally before going straight back up again. dont know why they couldnt just build a bridge! But then again in saying that it probably would have been bombed during the troubles.

Born in Ohio, raised in Ohio, there now. And I've never actually gone cow-tipping! My roommate did.

Of course next summer will bring quite a different answer to this question, I'll be about as far away from Ohio as I could get! (China) But only for a few months. Then it's back to the Buckeye State. ;)

Hey, no condolences on being from Ohio. I call it home also:D . Actually I was born and raised there, but I've spent the last four or five years out here in Washington. Can't wait to go home soon. You wouldn't believe the things you discover that you miss when all you could think of is getting out of there. I'm moving back in February or March. Not really too sure which one yet. Maybe even earlier if I get a job there sooner.

Do people actually go cow tipping? Can you really tip a cow? I always thought cow tipping was just something people do in the movies. (like Heathers)

have you done it before though? It's not like we don't have cows where I come from, but I have never known anyone here who actually tips cows. If you bring it up, you're likely to get snickered at. In fact I used to live 30 minutes away from the city and I would drive past cows everday. In fact, I went around a windy country rode only to a black cow walking slowy down the road.

We've gone cow tipping...we decided against it because we didn't want to startle them and get trampled...it was out on a friend's neighbors ranch...so we ended up building a bonfire. Fun stuff.
