how to get published

I've recently decided that i'd like to get my poems published but i dont know how to go about doing it. Can anyone give me some advice?

Send them to publishing houses and try to send them to literary magazines.

Turk's correct. A good way to find them is a book called The Poet's Market. Read the guidelines for each magazine carefully, as each one may have different guidelines. Match poems to magazines.
