Hi everyone, my name is Chun. This is the first literature forum I've joined.

To give you some background, I'm from Australia, in my 20s, working, and at that stage of life where I think I need some "spiritual food" (without necessarily going to the church). So one fine day (ie today) I thought I'll google "literature forum", and here I am!

I write a lot in my job, but nothing related to "literature". Literature is one of those things that's always fascinated me, but not something I have a great deal of knowledge of. All the sniplets I've experienced I've thoroughly enjoyed, but there's just not enough of it. So hopefully I'll learn something here.

I should be in the philosophy forum most of the time. I know mostly Chinese philosophy, with an emphasis on Taoism, as well as some Western sociologists that I've studied during uni (ie Emile Durkheim, Karl Marx and Max Weber).

That's about all for now.

Ayn Rand said that 'For a woman qua woman, the essence of femininity is hero worship, the desire to look up to a man." Surely this cannot be true today?
