1984

I just read 1984 as a Debate Assignment.
It is an atonishing book I must say.
The assignment is a 4 page paper over how I can apply this to what I've learned in debate and how having read this I can intergrate it into my debating.
Any suggestions?

Interesting assignment.

I'd start by looking at the value of truth. Truth is what the Party says it is, nothing else matters.

From there you could move on to Newspeak and the way that it will destroy negative debate because the words to do so won't exist.

You could touch on Room 101 as a place for debaters who break the rules.
