If you are a fan of stories about the foreign legion, then I would suggest reading Beau Geste by Percival Christopher Wren. It is full of intrigue, adventure, and revenge. It also demonstrates the bond between brothers. Wren also has other books that along with this one would enhance the catalog of books available from the Literature Network.

I loved the movie with Gary Cooper!!!!! It inspired me to read the book when I was 11 years old!!! It's been my personal experience never to compare the two mediums. Art feeds on itself & all inspiration came from something that was created before! If I had listened to the folks who loved Leroux's Phantom of the Opera I never would've seen Webber's adaptation on stage! Of course the folks who loved the stage version hated the movie......another adaptation written specifically for film.I loved all three versions! I've been trying to find Beau Geste on the internet for sometime now, but I believe it's still under copyright law in England. Unless someone knows where we can download it I guess we'll have to settle for the old fashioned way---library or bookstore! It's a wonderful story!
