I am trying to find a copy of "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand. was wondering if you could possibly access it?
Has anyone on here read it? If so, would you recommend it?

i started to read it in my teens. didn't like it as much as the fountainhead (and so didn't finish atlas shrugged). but would definitely recommend it - ayn rand is a brilliant stylist.

I've gotten about half-way through Atlas Shrugged - I'm really liking it so far, but it's just so bloody long! So I deserted it for a bit and read Anthem (v. short), which sort of gives an overview of her philosophy, and the power of individualism. She imagines a world where the word I doesn't exist, and explores what would happen if someone tried to break out of the WE.

That sounds about right. I had read a lot of hype about Rand and was going to give her a whirl, so after picking up a bunch of her stuff I started out with Anthem, the wee shortbus book of the bunch. It was pretty good, though it didn't give me quite enough steam to tear into her larger novels, which are somewhat gargantuan in comparison.
And then I started hearing nothing but bad bad bad stuff about those big ol' books, so I've still yet to give them a proper spin for my money...
