Has anybody read the Ecstacy of Rita Joe? It's a one act play by George Ryga, and deals with the treatment of the first nations peoples and discrimination.

It's by a canadian playwrite who had this girl Rita Joe unable to leave town and is charged with prostitution. The time frame of the play is hard to follow, I think that there is more than one trial and the first one Rita is charged falsely, because of her native heritage, and then she does fall into prostitution, and theft, and assult are also charges. It's as sad story, I'm not really sure if it was any good or not, but I guess nobody else has heard of it. Apperantly it was a big hit as a New York stage production.
