What does it mean to say that art should create static responses, not kinetic responses?
Supposedly kinetic means "desire or loathing" while a static response is "prolonged and dissolved by the rhythm of beauty

my guess would be slow moving or stationary reactions, no emotion, contemplation, static out of the dictionary means, constant unmoving.

kinetic might mean a romantic(emotion/religion/art[romanticism of 1800's and 1900's]), possibly energetic reaction
