Bookworm Birthday

There once was a bookworm who devoured stories,
And digested each word for flavor and taste.
Tucked away inside some novel without cares or worries,
It savored each word and let naught go to waste.
This certain bookworm once took a taste of my work,
And finding it suited, ate it up—every single line!
Congratulated me of the fineness of flavor: (neat little quirk!},
And told me more of the same would suit his pallet just fine!
But others, less decisive, found my stories less tempting,
And although I still write them, I don’t post them here.
My Shadow shorts appear on a website as they have been,
And from time to time, I get a nibble here and there.
