What does "referals" mean in your profile?

Somewhere in your profile is a link you can use to refer people to the forum. When they click the link and sign up you get a "referral." Referral points are worth absolutely nothing. It is a system that comes with the forum software. Its just another user statistic.

I have gotten into the habbit when I leave libraries or radio shacks or anywhere with internet connections to leave the computer open to online-literature.com

I have one curiosity.. a member told me that our Admin is actually not a huge fan of literature..and I believe with what the person said..and yet our Admin created this forum for us...crazy book worms to hang out...
Hmmm..anyone can give me satisfying explanation?

LoL No, I really like the idea. :D
I haven't heard that rumor. I dunno, if I was him I'd find it pretty hard to stay out of all these fun lit. discussions, but maybe that's just my big mouth.

I mean think about it..he's not even a fan of lit, yet he has to maintain this forum and update it for our sake..plus he has to take all those grumbles from us (read: KIK :D)...

I like literature. I started this site because I liked it. I've always been an avid reader. I haven't read everything on this site, but I've read alot of it. I really like Fitzgerald, Shakespeare, Donne, Stevenson. I hated Crime & Punishment and Frankenstein.
I don't have time to participate in alot of the discussions. I used to post, back when there weren't that many members, because if I didn't reply no one would. Now with all of you it isn't necessary for me to reply to threads for the forum to grow.
This was the first commercial website I made, but I now own a company that has about 20. I also have a house and a wife to take care of. So my time is very limited.

I agree about Frankentstein, but... but... *mouth opens and closes like a beached bass* :(

i totally hear you fool, that is why i share it as often as possible. but i still find myself almost unconciously screening people too, before i tell them about it (dont want no riff raff you know!!). i fear that i have this almost protective feeling about this forum that i am not even an "original" of. i have visited other forums and this is the only one where i have ever felt this integrated and welcome and ....well, just at home. and same as one is careful who one invites to their home, i am selective (somewhat) in who i invite here. Baddad is my only referral, although i have told many others about it.
