I'm quite surprised there isn't a thread regarding this insanely popular book series. Especially when I just know almost everyone here has at least read one of the novels.

Anyway, who else is/used to be a fan? I can't be alone; I grew up with these damn books. They were fiercely huge growing up, and were the "in" thing to read (remember, it actually used to be cool to read something?). Though I've grown up, and do not read the Goosebumps novels anymore... and though I've sold most of my collection, I still am completely unable to sell my favorites. And those are:

- The Horror At Camp Jellyjam
- The Ghost Next Door
- Say Cheese And Die
- The Haunted Mask
- Stay Out Of The Basement
- Welcome To Dead House

So, everyone else can take on from this point... Discuss away.

I knew the publishers son and didn't like him, therefore I never read any of the books. Now I am too old for them I think.

I also read them, dozens of them, a decade ago probably. Too bad I didn't know about Tolstoy and such back then. So many hours. I remember they released a new one every month or two, which I guess shows how much he cared about them, just exploitations of a child's reading habit.

It's funny that you started this thread because I was just thinking about those books yesterday. I read them when I was in grade school.

I use to love reading The haunted mask and Welcome to Dead house the books didn't belong to me though, they belong to my older brother.
He also had a collection of them, for some reason he was a fan of Goosebumps back then himself...

Haha. Well I read them too. I remember the night of the living dummy, monster blood, and one where a kids dad turned into a plant. I wonder how R.L. Stine felt as the Stephen King of children's stories.

I think they died when that television series came out.

Thanks for the blast from the past.

Yes, I read a huge load of these books when I was younger. I think I still have all of those books lying around somewhere. I can't give any titles, though, 'cause I mostly read the Dutch translations.

I remember reading these when I was a little kid. These and the Babysitter club books.
