Ok, here's what I think about posting and number of posts:

When someone posts stupid post after stupid post, not contributing to discussion of any intelligent form, and than is super proud of themselves for having X number of posts, I get mad and tell them that thier posts don't matter (ala Nic). When someone contributes alot to the site (as I feel like I have and as most of you have affirmed at some point in time either publicly or through PMs {not to be confused with PMS}) and they have alot of posts, good for them! It should never be a competition to see who has the most posts or highest post per day. I was kidding when I said that. However, I will admit to checking the top 10 posters list and my brow did indeed wrinkle in confussion when AP passed me in about half the time I've been on this forum. I don't EVER post just to post. If you look closely, you'll notice my absence in the "leaving your mark" thread, and the "word association game" thread. Also I hardly ever post twice in a row, unless having two seperate posts makes for a more effective delivery of what I'm saying. When I was fighting with Nic, I kind of took all the fun out of the "number of posts" stat, and its been haunting me ever since. When I first appeared on the top ten posters list, I couldn't celebrate publicly. It was like a rose blooming and wilting, unseen, deep within the confines of my very soul. When I broke 500, I was alone, cut off by the blade of my own tounge (or typing fingers I guess). And when I pass 1000, I'll not ask for you to throw a party in my honor. I'll not expect a hero's welcome from Faye and anyone else who beats me there (oops :eek:), I mean, is also a member of the 1000 club. I'll merely smile to myself, and proceed to type in post 1001.

Thats all I have to say about that.

Uhm, yeah, and I was joking about the count-boosting factor .... actually I could care less what my post count is, I find it funny when people take that kind of stuff so seriously, I've seen it on many other forums too .... like this is going to earn them a credit at uni or something if they reach a certain number ... :D
