This may go nowhere, but I'm curiuos about people's opinions on how one's spiritual beliefs - or lack thereof - influence the way one views physical, human existence and, essentially, how one lives, in any sense really.
(NOTE: Please be civil when considering views other than - even opposed to - your own!)

Live freely but take responsibilities for your actions.

Live joyfully but learn to accept sadnessess too.

Live peacefully but learn to accept that peace will be from time to time will be disturbed.

Live harmoniously within yourself and those that you have around you but know also that there will be disharmony form time to time.

Live with compassion for yourself and those that you have around you.

Good question. I'm an advocate of "Love God with all your heart, soul and mind and love your neighbor as yourself", "Do not repay evil with evil but with blessing" "Do not be overcome with evil but overcome evil with good" "Forgive 70X7", "Turn the other cheek", "Love is the fulfillment of the law" and "1 Corinthians 13".
I also live by the law, which is to say, the "Do's and Do not's" of Christianity - but the law does not give life but rather, condemns it. Love is the fulfillment of the law or, in other words, when you follow the first and greatest principle (love of God, others, self) you won't do those things you shouldn't and do those things you should not out of self-discipline or self-deprivation, but out of love.
As far as how I view existence: man fell from grace and exists in a state of total depravity (witness 9/11, VA Tech, mothers committing infanticide, the greed and corruption in America). For me, this world is not real; it's an illusion of reality / a temporary state of being. For me, true life lies on the other side of death: unity with God/angels/saints in heaven. Hence, death doesn't bring finality but freedom.
I have a natural fear of death but I also look forward to being with God, in union with Love/saints/angels for eternity.

That's probably more than you wanted to know. Sorry.

I believe that my great purpose in life is to serve God and keep his commandments. I think it is impossible to find fulfillment in any other pursuit. So I live as simply as I possibly can, and try to focus on what really matters most. I believe that one person can and should make a difference. I believe in self examination. We must look for what is wrong with ourselves before we can improve ourselves. I take what comes at me with prayer and look for how that can make me grow. I find great joy in my children, garden, and general experience on earth. I am happy, but really it’s more than that. Because I don’t try to keep up with anyone, or have something better than what I have already, I have a quiet peace that is perfection. I’m kind of like that children’s song that says ‘I have the peace that passes understanding way down in the depths of my heart’

..when I'm dissatisfied with a situation I try to find out what I can do to change it rather than complaining or waiting for some miracle to happen...
i try to work on myself and improve first before I blame others...

when there's something I ought to do or want to do, like trying out new learning strategies with my students, I don't sit back and ask "Nobody does X/Y/Z, so why should I?" or say "It's not gonna work anyway", but I'll just give it a try and see how it works out.

when people get on my nerves, e.g. because they are arrogant or unfriendly etc, I tell myself "hang on, you're arrogant and rude enough yourself, change that first before you judge others"

Live the best life God gives you.

Pray more, criticize less, love fully, and do it in His name.

Amen, and when you recognize in yourself the potential for evil, in good conscience you can't stand in judgement of others. I am worse on myself than anybody else I know.
